– North Central College was unable to keep pace with Carthage College on Tuesday afternoon, falling 6-3 in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women's tennis match at the Smeds Tennis Center.

The Cardinal (7-5, 2-4 CCIW) duo of Rebecca Ross and Kassandra Bernardo were the lone victors in doubles play, downing the combination of Kirsten Peterson and Holly Weber, 8-4, at the No. 3 position.

In singles play, Reynolds Cross defeated the Lady Reds (4-3, 4-2 CCIW) Abbi Howell at No. 4, 6-4, 2-6, 10-8, while Ross improved to 8-0 on the season at the No. 5 spot, winning in straight sets over Kirsten Peterson, 6-2, 6-3.

North Central returns to the court Sept. 28-30, travelling to St. Louis, Mo. for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional hosted by Washington University.
