Jan. 22, 2013 - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin released its second weekly award winners for the 2013 indoor track & field season on Tuesday, with North Central College's Peter Geraghty earning Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Geraghty earns the honor after winning the pole vault at the Cardinal Opener on Friday. The senior cleared 16 feet, 6 3/4 inches, a mark that is currently tops in all of NCAA Division III. 

The vaulter is the first Cardinal to earn the honor this season, but it is the third time he has been named CCIW Field Athlete of the Week in his career. 

His performance on Friday helped the top-ranked Cardinals finish third in the home opener after notching 137 points.  No. 3-ranked University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the meet with 147 points, and No. 2 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse finished second with 142 points. 

The Cardinals return to the track on Friday when they head to Carthage College for the Metzger Invite at 3:00 p.m.
