ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 18, 2013) – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse pitched a 9-0 shutout against the North Central College men's tennis team on Monday morning in the Cardinals' spring break opener.
Josh Rodig put up the strongest challenge in singles competition against the Eagles (13-4) in the No. 3 slot, but fell 6-4, 6-2 to Kyle McGrane.
Jesse Adamson got beat 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 5 singles, while
Rustam Saini was defeated 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles competition.
North Central's (3-4)
Adam Ciccone in No. 1 singles,
Mason Sass at the No. 4 spot, and
Travis Kaszynski at No. 6 were all handled 6-0, 6-0.
Kaszynski and Ciccone were overtaken 8-3 in No. 1 doubles, while Sass and Saini fell 8-2 in second position. Adamson and Rodig were ousted 8-1 in No. 3 doubles to end the morning.
North Central hits the court again tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. eastern time against the University of Massachusetts Boston.
