Apr. 14, 2013 – The North Central College women's tennis team swept all nine matches Sunday afternoon in a non-conference dual match against Aurora University at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
Opening the afternoon in singles play, the Cardinals (11-7) won all six matches as Jenny Velasquez was victorious at No. 1 over the Spartans (7-9) Natalie Jansen 6-1, 7-5.  Madeline Urban, Reynolds Cross and Rebecca Ross each followed with 6-0, 6-0 straight set wins while Kassandra Bernardo defeated Andrea Pacheco 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot, and Megan Marble downed Kate Richenson 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6.
 
In doubles play, the Cardinal duo of Velasquez and Cross breezed to an 8-1 victory at No. 1 while Urban and Ross won 8-3 and the combination of Marble and Bernardo cruised to an 8-2 victory at No. 3.
 
North Central closes out its spring season Apr. 22, traveling to St. Mary's College (Ind.) at 4 p.m. (ET).
