Apr. 2, 2013 - North Central College head men's basketball coach
Todd Raridon has been selected as one of this year's Coach of the Year Award winners by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA).
Raridon recently completed his ninth season as the Cardinals' head coach. He led North Central to an overall record of 28-4, establishing a new single-season school record for wins, as the Cardinals advanced to the national semifinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship for the first time. North Central won its second straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament Championship and opened the season with a school-record 13-game winning streak.
Raridon's coaching record at North Central is 156-87, including two CCIW Championships, three CCIW Tournament titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. His winning percentage of .642 is the best in the program's history, and he ranks third in wins behind Bill Warden '55 (204 wins from 1981-97) and Len Bieber (169 wins from 1927-46). Raridon's career record stands at 426-212 in 24 seasons.
All of this year's honorees will be recognized at the IBCA's 41st annual Hall of Fame Banquet, to be held Saturday, Apr. 27 on the campus of Illinois State University.
