Apr. 30, 2013 - North Central College women's track and field athlete Ebony Stallworth has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Field Event Athlete of the Week for Apr. 22-28.

Stallworth set a new North Central outdoor record in the shot put at the Benedictine University Twilight Invitational on Friday, turning in a distance of 42 feet, 8 1/2 inches. She placed third in the event and is currently ranked second in the CCIW and 28th among all NCAA Division III competitors in the event. She also set a personal best in the discus throw with a mark of 122'3", currently ranking as the third-best performance in the CCIW. She also set a personal best in the hammer throw with a distance of 130'4".

Stallworth, who ranks fifth in North Central history in the hammer and ninth in the discus, is the third Cardinal to receive the CCIW's weekly field-event award this outdoor season, joining teammates Jocelyn Redlinski and Lina Baker.

The Cardinals travel to Millikin University on Friday and Saturday for the CCIW Outdoor Championships, as they seek to claim their second CCIW outdoor title in three years. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. both days.
