(Oct. 22, 2014)– The North Central College women's soccer team came back to tie it against the Augustana College Vikings, but couldn't pull through and dropped, 2-1, on Wednesday.
The Vikings (10-3-2, CCIW 3-1-0) were the first on the board with a goal by Jessica Kras in the 16
th minute.
The Cardinals (6-5-2, CCIW 2-2-0) bounced back quickly when forward
Caitlyn Orawiec sent one through the goal to tie the game just three minutes later.
Entering the second half still tied, midfielder
Nicholette Fulk and midfielder
Sarah Gaither put up shot attempts to try and take the lead, including a header shot from Fulk that almost snuck it, but it wouldn't be enough.
Augustana later found their opportunity in the 50
th minute as they scored in the game-winning goal.
Goalkeeper
Nicki Seiton tallied nine saves for the Cardinals as she tried to hold the Vikings down.
North Central competes next on Saturday at home as they take on conference rival Wheaton College at 1 p.m.
