Feb. 18, 2014 - North Central College women's track and field athlete Ebony Stallworth has been selected as the College Conference of Ililnois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Field Athlete of the Week for Feb. 10-16.

Stallworth earned the honor after breaking two of her own North Central varsity records in the Chicagoland Indoor Championships at Al B. Carius Track on Friday. She won the shot put with a record distance of 45 feet, 4 1/2 inches, then shattered her own school record with a toss of 51'3" in the 20-pound weight throw to place fourth.

A two-time national championship qualifier and 2013 outdoor All-American in the shot put, Stallworth currently ranks first in the CCIW and fifth among all NCAA Division III athletes in the shot put while sitting fourth in the CCIW and 27th nationwide in the weight throw.

Stallworth is the third Cardinal to receive Athlete of the Week honors from the CCIW this indoor season. Pole vaulter Elizabeth Composto got the nod on Jan. 28 and multi-event athlete Jocelyn Redlinski was so honored on Feb. 11.

North Central hosts the Cardinal Classic on Friday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., with running events set to start at 5:00.
