HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (Mar. 26, 2014) – The North Central College men's tennis team broke into the win column on final leg of its spring trip, defeating Buena Vista University, 7-2 at the Spring Tennisfest.
 
North Central (7-5) opened the afternoon by taking two of three doubles matches as Mason Sass and Connor Sass downed Kyle Weeden and Drake Swanson, 8-2 at No. 2.  At the No. 3 position, the combination of Jesse Adamson and Aleksandar Vasic hung on to defeat Justin Buzzard and John Bieber, 8-6.
 
In singles play, the Cardinals claimed five of six matches over the Beavers (3-8), with all five victories coming in straight sets.  At No. 2, Josh Rodig made quick work of Kyle Shade, 6-4, 6-1 and Oliver Moews downed Buzzard, 6-1, 7-6.  Adamson continued the Cardinals winning ways at No. 4, cruising past Weeden, 6-0, 6-1, while Connor Sass was victorious at No. 5, 6-1, 6-3 and Vasic earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Bieber at No. 6.
 
North Central begins College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play Saturday, Apr. 5, travelling to Augustana College.  Matches are slated to begin at Lower Campus Courts at 9 am.
