Mar. 8, 2014 – The North Central College men's tennis team remained unbeaten at home with 8-1 victory over Aurora University, Saturday afternoon at the Res/Rec Center.
The Cardinals (6-2) swept all six singles matches over the Spartans (0-1) as
Rustam Saini defeated Brian Koski, 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 1 position, while
Josh Rodig came back from a set down to beat Ricky Hernandez, 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 at No. 2. At the No. 3 spot,
Oliver Moews cruised past Matt Butler, 6-2, 6-0, while
Mason Sass won in straight 6-2 sets over Blain Hrovat at No. 4.
Jesse Adamson downed Jake Lipka at No. 5, 6-2, 6-4 and
Aleksandar Vasic shut out Tom Asavarachan, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
In doubles play, Saini and Rodig fought out a tough 9-8 win at No. 1 over Koski and Hernandez, while Adamson and Vasic defeated Butler and Michael Hohm, 8-5 at No. 3.
North Central travels to Hilton Head Island, S.C. for its annual spring break trip Mar. 23-26, as the Cardinals square off with Centre College (Ky.) to open play at the Spring Tennisfest.
