Apr. 10, 2014 – The North Central men's tennis team fought tough Thursday afternoon in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) dual match, ultimately falling to defending conference champion Elmhurst College, 8-1 at the NCC Tennis Courts.
The Cardinals (7-8, 0-2 CCIW) were able to take one of three doubles matches from the Bluejays (11-3, 4-0 CCIW), as
Mason Sass and
Connor Sass teamed up to defeat Vincent McPherson and Chris Harrison, 8-2 at the No. 2 position.
Elmhurst would go on to sweep all six singles positions to remain undefeated in conference play so far this season.
Rustam Saini was the lone Cardinal to take a match to a third set, ultimately falling to Will Jung, 3-6, 6-1, 10-5 at the No. 1 spot.
North Central is back in action Tuesday, Apr. 15, hosting Wheaton College to continue CCIW play at 3 pm.
