Women's Tennis Rolls Past Aurora, 9-0

The North Central College women's tennis team cruised past Aurora University, 9-0 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
In singles action the Cardinals swept all six matches in straight sets as Katie Drone and Miranda Grizaffi each won by 6-0, 6-0 sets at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.  At the No. 3 position, Kelsey Forkin downed Chloe Madison, 6-0, 6-0 while Reynolds Cross defeated Kate Richerson, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4.  At No. 5, Rebecca Ross made quick work of Melanie Findlay, 6-1, 6-0 and Clare O'Connor shutout Jordan Hankes, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6
 
In doubles play, Cross and Forkin earned an 8-2 win over Abby Matayka and Richerson at No. 1.  At the No. 2 spot, Drone and Grizaffi defeated Findlay and Jamie Huff, 8-1 and the combination of O'Connor and Kassandra Bernardo downed Madison and Christy Savellano, 8-2 at No. 3.
 
North Central is back in action Apr. 28, hosting Saint Mary's College (Ind.) in a non-conference dual at 3:30 pm.
