Apr. 15, 2014 – The North Central College men's tennis team ran into a tough Wheaton College squad Tuesday afternoon, dropping a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) dual at the NCC Tennis Courts, 9-0.
The Thunder (15-2, 3-0) opened the afternoon with a sweep of all three doubles matches.
Jesse Adamson and
Aleksandar Vasic fought hard against David Buursma and Derek Mumaw, but ultimately fell 8-4.
In singles play, the Cardinals (7-9, 0-3 CCIW) fell in straight sets in all six matches. At the No. 6 position, Vasic battled through the bitter cold but wound up dropping a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Mumaw.
North Central continues conference play Apr. 17, traveling to Illinois Wesleyan University with matches slated to begin at 4 pm.
