Apr. 22, 2014 – The North Central College men's tennis team dropped to 1-4 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play with a 9-0 loss to Carthage College, Tuesday afternoon at the NCC Tennis Courts in the final home match of the season.
In doubles play, the Red Men (16-7, 4-1 CCIW) swept all three positions as
Jesse Adamson and
Aleksandar Vasic fought Tony O'Connell and Alex Ferruzzi tough at No. 3, but ultimately fell 8-6.
In singles play, Carthage was victorious in all six matches by single sets. At the No. 6 position,
Connor Sass was leading in the second set but could not hang on, falling 6-0, 7-5 to Ferruzzi.
North Central (8-10, 1-4 CCIW) wraps up the regular season Saturday, Apr. 26, making the trip down to Millikin University. Matches are slated to begin at 3:30 pm at the Fairview Park Tennis Center.
