The Cardinals (29-7, CCIW 9-3) had a promising start to their matchup against the Spartans (22-12). 
Andrea Starr kicked off the second inning with a home run to left center field, her second of the season. 
Taylor Ryan followed her lead with a single up the middle in the third. 
Kiersten Tinkoff then took the opportunity for her third home run of the season in left as she knocked in her and Ryan to make it 3-0.
North Central didn't stop there as they added five more runs in the fifth inning to end it early. This included the third home run of the game as 
Amanda Walker smacked one in center field for two RBI.
Pitcher Starr held the Spartans to only six hits during the game, shutting them out 8-0.
Game two was a bit different for the Cardinals as they put one on the board in the first inning, scoring off a wild pitch. This would be the only time they crossed home plate for the remainder of the game.
Aurora responded in the bottom of the first with three singles and two walks to get in their three runs.
Those would be the only time either team would score as starter 
Bri Kiel kept the Spartans quiet for the rest of the game and the Cardinals offense couldn't pick it up, losing 3-1.
North Central takes on their final conference competitor, the 20
th ranked Augustana College Vikings on Saturday in Rock Island, Ill. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
