ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Apr. 29, 2014) – The North Central College men's tennis team ended its season Tuesday night, unable to get past Augustana College in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play-in match, 5-0 at the Quad City Tennis Club.
The two teams played to a 5-0 decision as the Vikings (16-10) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, sweeping all three doubles matches.
In singles play,
Rustam Saini was defeated 0-6, 0-6 at the No. 1 position by Lawrence Palmer, while
Josh Rodig fell 2-6, 0-6 to Andy Wall, as the Vikings clinched the fourth and final spot in the CCIW Tournament this weekend.
North Central ends the season with an overall record of 9-11 while posting a 2-4 record in CCIW play.
