(May 2, 2014) – The North Central College women's tennis team closed out its season Friday afternoon, falling to Wheaton College, 8-1 in the first round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament.
The Thunder (14-5) opened the afternoon with a sweep of all three doubles matches, as the Cardinals'
Kassandra Bernardo and
Clare O'Connor fought hard but ultimately fell 8-4 at the No. 3 position.
The Cardinals' lone victory in singles play came at the No. 6 position as O'Connor defeated Katherine Kaiser in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
North Central finishes the season with an overall record of 10-11 and a CCIW record of 2-4.
