Contact: Drew Sauer, Assistant Sports Information Director, 630-637-5324Box ScoreOct. 10, 2015 – Running into arguably its toughest opponent thus far, the North Central College women's tennis team was undone at the hands of undefeated Augustana College, 9-0 in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) dual at the NCC Tennis Courts.
Beginning the afternoon with doubles competition, the Vikings (12-0, 6-0 CCIW) were able to secure all three positions, as the Cardinal duo of
Kelsey Forkin and
Clare O'Connor nearly pulled off the upset over Dana Goggin and Aileen MacDonald at the No. 1 position, but eventually fell by a 9-7 score.
Augustana would go on and claim all six singles position in straight sets, as the Cardinals drop to 3-4 this season and 3-3 in CCIW play.
North Central is back in action tomorrow, playing host to Millikin University in the regular season finale tomorrow at 11 a.m.
