Feb. 24, 2015 - North Central College women's track and field athlete Ebony Stallworth has been selected as one of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, as announced by the CCIW on Tuesday.

Stallworth was voted the conference's top field-event athlete over the past week due to her performance in Friday's Cardinal Classic at Al B. Carius Track. She won the shot put competition with a personal-best mark of 47 feet, 6 1/4 inches to break her own North Central indoor record by nearly a foot. Her performance in the event currently ranks first among CCIW athletes and fourth nationally among NCAA Division III competitors.

The 2014 CCIW champion and a two-time national qualifier in the indoor shot put, Stallworth is now a three-time Athlete of the Week award winner this season. The Cardinals have five of the 12 weekly awards that the CCIW has bestowed this season, as hurdler Madison Renfro and distance runner Megan Costanzo have been so honored as well.

The Cardinals will travel to Carthage College on Friday and Saturday for the 2015 CCIW Indoor Championships, where they will be chasing their sixth team championship and their fourth in the past five years. Competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on both days. More information can be found at cciw.org.
