ELMHURST, Ill. (April 10, 2015)­– The North Central College softball team extended their win streak to seven after defeating College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) competitor, the Elmhurst College Bluejays, 3-0 and 6-3 on Friday.

The Cardinals (17-1, CCIW 4-0) remain undefeated in CCIW play after this doubleheader. In game one, North Central snagged all their runs in the first inning. Kayla Antle started it with a single off a bunt. Kiersten Tinkoff stepped up to the plate and knocked a single to center field to get on base, but it was Corrine Rowe who put one deep for a three-run homer, her sixth home run of the season.

Pitcher Andrea Starr (9-1) got the win giving up just four hits and striking out four.

In game two, the Bluejays started things in the third inning with a single that knocked in a run.

North Central responded immediately in the fourth receiving an unearned run off an error that brought Cecie Portillo home. 

Portillo followed in the fifth with a single to knock in Jenna Trojniar. But it was a double in the sixth from Brooke Kehoe that brought in the rest of the runs for the Cardinals scoring in Starr and Carly Trenhaile.

North Central is back home on Saturday taking on the University of Chicago in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
