April 11, 2015­– Continuing their hot streak, the North Central College softball team made it look easy on Saturday as they beat the University of Chicago Maroons 3-0 and 8-3 in a nonconference doubleheader.

The Cardinals (19-1, CCIW 4-0) extended their win streak to nine starting in game one with Kayla Antle kicking off the bottom of the third with a walk. Cecie Portillo and Kiersten Tinkoff got on from a fielder's choice and error which gave Corrine Rowe the sacrifice fly to bring in Antle for the first run.

Carly Trenhaile kept the momentum going with a single up the middle to snag a RBI with Tinkoff crossing home.

In the fourth, Jordan Johnson snuck home on an infield play to make it 3-0.

Pitcher Andrea Starr snatched a no-hitter and received the win extending her record to 10-1 with six strikeouts.

In game two, it was a big third inning for the Cardinals as the bases got loaded from three walks. With a single from Tinkoff and two big errors from the Maroons, North Central ended the inning ahead 5-0.

In the sixth, Chicago tried to rally when they pushed a few runs in off of singles, but that wasn't enough as the Cardinals responded with three of their own in the bottom of the inning. Trenhaile began things with a single up the middle to get on as Starr crushed one over the left field fence for a two-run homer, her second home run of the season.

Amanda Walker snatched an infield single that same inning and Jenna Trojniar doubled to make the final score, 8-3. 

Pitcher Kaylee Hayton got the win making her record now 5-0.

North Central is back home on Tuesday against conference competitor Carthage College in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
