KENOSHA, Wis. (May 1, 2015) –
The North Central College men's tennis team ended the season on Friday afternoon at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament, defeating Millikin University, 5-4 to open the day, before falling to Illinois Wesleyan University, 7-1 in the fifth-place match at the Smeds Tennis Center.

The Cardinals fell behind early in the opening match against Millikin, dropping two of three doubles matches, as Adam Winters and Alex Kohlmeier recorded the lone victory with a 8-3 win over J.C. Santamaria and Dane Pierantoni at the No. 3 position.

North Central battled back in singles play, taking four of the six matches to secure the 5-4 win.  At the No. 2 position, Connor Sass defeated Emerick Fulton by retirement, while Winter cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win over Jimmy Page at No. 4.  At the No. 5 spot, Kohlmeier downed Pierantoni in straight 6-4 sets and Tyler Ringle overcame a rough first set to comeback and defeat Santamaria, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 6 position.

In the nightcap against Illinois Wesleyan, the Cardinals once again trailed 2-1 after doubles play as Sass and Ryan Doeckel teamed up to fight off Calen Crim and Kurt Meyer, 8-5 at No. 2.
