The Thunder (5-1, 3-0 CCIW) opened the afternoon winning all three doubles positions, as the Cardinal duo of
Miranda Grizaffi and
Katie Drone fought tough at the No. 2 position against Emily Jones and Anna-Katherine Barrett, but ultimately fell 9-8.
The 10-time defending CCIW champions carried the momentum into singles play, claiming all six positions in straight sets.
North Central opens its home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 26, playing host to Illinois Wesleyan University in a conference matchup slated for 2 pm.
