The Cardinals (2-2, 2-1 CCIW) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles positions over the Titans (1-6, 0-4 CCIW), as the dou of
Kelsey Forkin and
Clare O'Connor took down Dana Dray and Randi Wilson, 8-2 at the No. 1 position. At No. 2,
Katie Drone and
Miranda Grizaffi made quick work of Brianna Dao and Allie Spontak, 8-1, while
Marisa Coladipietro and
Karissa Schroeder defeated Kayleigh Ruffolo and Sam Robinson, 8-3 at the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Drone cruised past Dray, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot, while Grizaffi downed Dao, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 2. At the No. 3 position, Forkin downed Wilson, 6-0, 6-2, and O'Connor was victorious by a 6-2, 6-1 score at No. 4 over Spontak. At the No. 5 spot, Coladipietro took care of Ruffolo, 6-1, 6-2, and at the No. 6 position, Schroeder defeated Robinson, 6-3, 6-2.
North Central continues CCIW play on Monday, Sept. 28 traveling to North Park University with matches slated to begin at 3 p.m.
