(Sept. 28, 2015) – Continuing its hot start to College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, the North Central College women's tennis teamed improved to 3-1 in conference action with a 7-2 win over North Park University.
The Cardinals (3-2, 3-1 CCIW) began the afternoon with a clean sweep of all three doubles positions as
Clare O'Connor and
Kelsey Forkin defeated Lisa Daniels and Jasmine Madrid, 8-2 at the No. 1 position. At the No. 2 spot,
Katie Drone and
Miranda Grizaffi teamed up to take down Vilde Olvin and Juviel Vinluan, 8-3 at No. 2, while
Marisa Coladipietro and
Karissa Schroeder cruised past Katie Chleboun and Marlee McCabe, 8-1 at No. 3.
In singles play, Drone defeated Daniels, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 position, while O'Connor downed McCabe in straight 6-2 sets at No. 4. At the No. 5 position, Coladipietro made quick work of Vinluan, 6-2, 6-2, and at No. 6, Schroeder took down Chleboun, 6-4, 6-4.
North Central will take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Tournament, hosted by Kalamazoo College, Oct. 2-4.
