Oct. 16, 2016- The North Central College women's triathlon team competed at the Liberty University Triathlon Saturday, in Huddleston, Virginia.
 
Freshman Nikki Banas remained consistent as the first finisher for North Central completing the 1500-meter swim, 24.2-mile bike and 6.2-mile run in a time of two hours, six minutes and 25 seconds.
 
The Cardinals had a strong showing from sophomores Jennifer Hufnagle who finished in 3:06:05 and sophomore Elizabeth Alvarado trailing Hufnagle by two seconds, crossing the line at 3:06:07.
 
Not far behind the sophomore pair was senior Mary Wrobel who completed the course in 3:14:21.
 
The Cardinal's next race will be the USA Triathlon hosted National Championship race on Nov. 5, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
