Oct. 2, 2016-The North Central College women's triathlon team places at the Eastern Regional Qualifier hosted by the Mid-Atlantic College Conference which was sponsored by USA Triathlon in Browns Summit, North Carolina Sunday.
 
Nikki Banas maintained her position as the top finisher for the cardinals placing 24th overall. Banas completed the 800-meter swim in 11 minutes and 46.8 seconds, the 12.4-mile bike in 39.50.5 and the 3.1-mile run in 25:41.9 giving her a completion time of 1:18:29.2.
 
Just over a minute behind Banas was North Central's second finisher, Grace Miller. Miller swam a time of 11:38.9, clocked 43:29.5 on the bike and ran the course in 23:27.6 earning her a completed time of 1:19:40.7 and 26th place.
 
Both Banas and Miller had improved transition times, all of which were under 35 seconds.

The Cardinal's next race, the Liberty University Triathlon, is set for Saturday Oct.15 at 9 a.m. in Huddleston, Virginia.
