Oct. 4, 2016 – The North Central College women's soccer team was honored with an Athlete of the Week winner as Jessica DeJong was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week.

DeJong scored her team's only goal last week in a 1-0 shutout of Carthage on October 1. She tallied an unassisted goal, her first of the season, in the 68th minute against the Lady Reds to help the Cardinals win their CCIW opener.

DeJong is the first Offensive Player of the Week for the Cardinals and second overall as Nicki Seiton took home the Defensive winner the first week of the season.

DeJong logged both of her shots on goal in the contest and is tied with three other Cardinals for the second most goals on the season. DeJong led the team in goals last season with eight on the year.

The Cardinals travel to Elmhurst College on October 5, as they take on the Blue Jays at 5 pm. Live stats and video can be found HERE.
