Nov. 22, 2016-  Sophomore Katherine Canfield of the North Central College women's swimming & diving team was honored as College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, following her impressive display at the University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic over the weekend.

The Aurora, Ill. native placed second in the consolation finals of the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:09.53, while also finishing with her first in-season time under a minute in the 100-yard backstroke at 59.95.

Canfield's teammates were thrilled to see her gain recognition from the CCIW. "Katherine has worked extremely hard all preseason, and derserves all the success she is getting" proclaimed senior Julie Albright.

The Cardinals compete next at the Illinois Institute of Technology Ted Erickson Invitational on December 3rd.
