FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEContact: Elliott Carr, Sports Information Graduate Assistant, 630-637-5302Box Score Mar. 22, 2016 – In the final game of their spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, the North Central College women's tennis team went out on a high, in a commanding 8-1 victory over the St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Tuesday, at the Evian Tennis Center.
Junior Katie Drone played as the one seed, and would be the only Cardinal to suffer defeat, going down 6-2 6-2. Senior Kelsey Forkin would help the Cardinals bounce back, winning 6-2 6-0, while junior Clare O'Connor easily defeated her opponent, 6-4 6-0. Freshman Marisa Coladipietro would drop the first set 6-4, but showed resolve to bounce back and win the following two sets 7-5 10-8. Seniors Karissa Schroeder and Kassandra Bernardo closed things out for the Carindals, both winning 6-0 6-0.The Cardinals proved to be far too strong for the Eutectics in the doubles, with the team of O'Connor and Forkin winning 8-1, Drone and Bernardo prevailing 8-3, and Coladipietro and Schroeder not dropping a game, with an 8-0 victory.
After playing several matches in a short span of time, the Cardinals will have some time to rest and recover before hitting the road again, when they travel to Hammond, Indiana, to take Purdue University Calumet.
