DECATUR, Ill. (Apr. 2, 2016) – Opening College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play at Millikin University, the North Central College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at the hands of the Big Blue at the Decatur Athletic Club.
After
Connor Sass and
Victor Krueger teamed up to defeat Jacob Hamilton and Connor Sacks, 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, the Big Blue (8-2, 1-0 CCIW) claimed the final two positions to jump out to a 2-1 lead.
In singles play, Millikin was victorious in five of the six matches
Tyler Bussell was the lone Cardinal victor, taking down Noah Klumpe, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 at the No. 6 spot. Krueger and
Hayden Sass each took their opponents to three sets, but ultimately fell 10-2 and 10-7, respectively.
North Central (7-5, 0-1 CCIW) plays host to Elmhurst College on Monday, Apr. 4 with matches slated to begin at 3 p.m. at the NCC Tennis Courts.
