Apr. 22, 2016 – The North Central College men's tennis team's struggles in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play continued on Friday, suffering an 8-1 loss at the hands of Elmhurst College at the NCC Tennis Courts.
The Cardinals (10-8, 0-4 CCIW) fought tough in each of the three doubles positions but could not pull out a win, as
Victor Krueger and
Connor Sass dropped a 9-8 (7-2) heartbreaker to Chris Harrison and Quin Jennings at the No. 1 position, as the pair held a 6-3 lead midway through the match.
In singles play,
Adam Winters won the first set 6-0 over Kyle Endicott at the No. 4 position, but could not hang on, eventually dropping the final two sets 6-1, 6-3.
Tyler Bussell earned the Cardinals lone victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Justin Delawder at the No. 6 spot.
North Central plays host to Carthage College on Saturday, Apr. 23 at 11 a.m. to wrap up the home portion of the schedule.
