May 9, 2016 – Three members of the North Central College softball team were honored as selections for the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) all-conference team, announced on Monday.

The all-conference team was selected by the CCIW's head softball coaches during their end-of-the-year spring meeting. Two Cardinals in Jenna Trojniar and Taylor Clugston received first-team nods while Andrea Starr was selected to the second-team.

Sophomore Jenna Trojniar receives her first selection in her career after leading the team in batting average (.357), hits (41), doubles (9), total bases (62), slugging percentage (.539) and on-base percentage (.444). She turned in a perfect fielding percentage defensively for North Central, one of three to do so. She finished 12^th in conference in batting average and logged two homeruns on the season.

Freshman Taylor Clugston also receives first-team honors in her first year of competition. She finished second on the team in batting average at .319 while leading the team in runs scored with 29. She finished tied for first on the team in triples (3) with Trojniar while tallying seven doubles and one homerun. She led the team in stolen bases with eight on the year and finished the season with a .910 fielding percentage.

Senior Andrea Starr received second-team honors for her pitching efforts this season. Starr finished the season with a 13-13 record and a 2.59 ERA, good for fifth in conference. She threw 20 complete games, amassing 167 innings pitched (second in conference) and two shutouts. She struck out 76 batters this year while batters hit .247 against her. She led the CCIW in saves with three on the season.

North Central finished the year with a 20-18 record, going 8-6 in conference, finishing third in the regular season. After winning their first two games against Wheaton College and Illinois Wesleyan University in the conference tournament, the Cardinals unfortunately lost twice to Wheaton, finishing second in the tournament.
