Sept. 17, 2016 – Opening up the 2016 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) schedule, the North Central College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to defending conference champion Wheaton College on Saturday at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
Beginning the day with doubles play, the Thunder (5-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Kelsey Forking and Clare O'Connor put up a fight at the No. 1 position but ultimately fell 8-3.
 
Wheaton went on to claim all six positions in singles play, as O'Connor battled Emily Jones with some long rallies and hard fought points, but could not pull off the upset, falling by a score of 6-3, 6-3.
 
North Central continues CCIW play tomorrow, playing host to North Park University at 3:30 p.m.
