Sept. 20, 2016- The North Central College women's triathlon team had each one of its athletes place within the top ten in their divisions at the CyMan Triathlon hosted by the Iowa State University Triathlon Club on Sunday.
 
North Central freshmen Nikki Banas and Grace Miller and sophomore Jennifer Hufnagle swept the 19-and-under division claiming the top three times. Meanwhile, sophomore Elizabeth Alvarado placed third and senior Mary Wrobel placed 10th in the 20-24 year-old division.
 
Banas was the first triathlete to complete the 750-meter swim, 22.5-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run for the Cardinals with a time of 1:17:07 and placing second for the women overall. Following Banas was Miller with a time of 1:22:06.
 
Alvarado was the next Cardinal to complete the course coming with a time of 1:29:13. Crossing the finish line together with times of 1:32:23 were Hufnagle and Wrobel.
 
Alvarado, Hufnagle and Wrobel each recorded their first finish as Cardinals.
 
The Cardinals' next race, the Fighting Illini Triathlon, is set for Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. in Urbana-Champaign, Il.
