Sep. 6, 2016 – In the first selection of conference players of the week, the North Central College women's soccer team wasted no time being honored for their efforts as Nicki Seiton was named Defensive Player of the Week for the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW).

Seiton, a senior goalkeeper, recorded 10 saves and one shutout for the 1-0-1 Cardinals last week. She made six saves while playing all 110 minutes of a 1-1 tie against Bethel on Sunday. Seiton made four saves in a 1-0 shutout of Edgewood to open the season on Thursday.

Seiton started the season by logging her 10^th career shutout, placing her second all-time. She is four shutouts behind career leader Elise Manzie. She has also tallied 273 career saves, six behind Manzie who is second all-time. She is also a three time All-Academic CCIW selection.

The Cardinals next game is Wednesday, September 7 as they travel to River Forest to take on Concordia University Chicago. North Central defeated the Cougars 1-0 last season. Game time is scheduled for 4 pm at Concordia Stadium.
