Oct. 15, 2017 – Closing out the regular season and College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, the North Central College women's tennis team found itself on the wrong end of an 8-1 decision to Millikin University on Sunday in a match moved inside to Naperville Tennis Club.
 
Millikin (8-6, 4-4 CCIW) took an early 3-0 lead after doubles play, taking the first two positions by identical 8-2 scores, before Katie Legorreta and Rena Kawakami were upended at the No. 3 position by a score of 8-3.
 
In singles play, Diana Barcelata scored the Cardinals lone victory, downing Morgan Bettner in straight 6-2 sets at the No. 1 position.
 
North Central (3-9, 1-7 CCIW) wrap up the fall portion of the schedule at the CCIW Tournament, held at Centre Court Athletic Club in Hanover Park, Illinois, Oct. 19-21.
