Oct. 16, 2017- The North Central College softball team had six members of the 2016-2017 team named Easton/ National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athletes on Tuesday October 11, 2017. North Central's Taylor Clugston, Brooke Kehoe, Alyssa Klemm, Anna Seffernick, Jessica Weaver and Jenna Amazzalorso were all named NFCA Scholar Athletes.
 
A total of 44 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) softball student athletes were named out of the 7,365 announced softball players across seven membership divisions as scholar athletes.
 
NCAA Division III held the second-highest total number of recipients with 1,825. To be named a NFCA Scholar Athlete, players must earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
 
The CCIW had five different institutions with players recognized as NFCA Scholar Athletes, which included Augustana (12), Carrol (11), Illinois Wesleyan (10), North Central (6) and North Park (5).

North Central's softball season begins March 15, 2018 at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida.
