Oct. 26, 2017 - For the first time in a quarter-century, the North Central College women's tennis program has a First Team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selection, as the Cardinals' Diana Barcelata was named one of the CCIW's six First Team selections for the 2017 campaign on Tuesday.

Barcelata is the first North Central player to receive First Team All-CCIW honors since Jeni Seitz '94 in 1992, when only one All-Conference Team was selected. Barcelata is the first Cardinal to be so honored under the current two-team format.

North Central's No. 1 singles player the entire fall season, Barcelata posted a 12-4 overall record in singles competition, including a third-place finish in the No. 1 singles bracket at the CCIW Championships. The third-place finish is the Cardinals' highest at No. 1 singles in the conference tournament since Seitz placed second in 1992.

North Central has concluded its fall schedule and will open the 2018 spring season by playing a series of five dual matches in Orlando, Florida Mar. 16-21.
