HANOVER PARK, Ill. (Oct. 6, 2017) – In a match moved indoors due to inclement weather, the North Central College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 dual at the hands of defending College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) champion Wheaton College on Friday at the Centre Court Racquet Club.
The unbeaten Thunder (7-0, 6-0 CCIW) opened the evening with a sweep of all three doubles positions, before winning all six singles positions in straight sets.
Diana Barcelata was undone 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 position, before Wheaton shut out the Cardinals in straight 6-0 sets in each of the two, three, four and five positions.
North Central (3-7, 1-5 CCIW) is off until next Saturday, Oct. 14, returning home to host Carthage College with matches slated for 12 p.m. at the NCC Tennis Courts.
