2017 CCIW All-Conference Women's Volleyball Teams
Nov. 6, 2017 – After a three-win improvement in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play this season, the North Central College women's volleyball team was awarded with a pair of All-CCIW selections, as
Cara Howell and
Anna Billman were each selected to the second team, as determined by the conference's nine head coaches on Monday.
The All-CCIW honors are the first for both Howell and Billman, while also marking the first time multiple Cardinals were selected since 2012.
Howell led the CCIW in service aces per set, averaging 0.57 while ranking eighth averaging 2.74 kills per set. Howell led the team with 189 kills and 39 service aces this season, while ranking third on the team with 185 digs. She wraps up her four-year career ranked sixth on the program's career kills list with 1,082, while also ranking fourth in service aces (149) and 10
th in total blocks (180).
Billman ranked third in the conference hitting an even .300 on the season, while also tying for ninth with an average of 0.72 blocks per set. Billman's .300 hitting percentage far and away the tops on the team this season, as no other hitter with qualifying attempts hit over .200. Billman tied for the team lead with 50 total blocks this season, while ranking third with 131 kills.
After an 0-8 record and last place finish in 2016, the Cardinals finished 3-4 in CCIW play this season to tie for fifth in the 2017 standings.
