Dec. 12, 2017- North Central College's junior Katherine Canfield has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Swimmer of the week. The CCIW announced its selection on Tuesday, after dominating performance at the Illinois College Quad over the weekend.
 
Canfield, an Aurora, Ill. native and exercise science major, earned her second swimmer of the week of her career, after obtaining three first-place finishes, and a second-place finish in Saturdays Quadrangular meet.
 
She assisted in obtaining a first-place finish for the Cardinals in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.65), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:46.62).
 
Canfield also earned an individual first-place win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.73 and a second-place finish in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:05.62.
 
North Central defeated all three of its opponents last weekend, edging out Illinois College (109-102), overpowered Knox College (146-48), and beat Lincoln College (114-93).
 
The Cardinals next meet will take place at home in the Merner Field House on January 13, 2018, meet time is to be determined.
