HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (Mar. 19, 2017) – The North Central College men's tennis team continued their dominant form since arriving at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, conquering Buena Vista University 8-1 on Sunday evening, at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.

The Cardinals were perfect in singles competition, spearheaded by sophomore Victor Krueger at the No. 1 spot. Playing his most complete match of the year, Krueger defeated Andrew Boell 6-3, 6-4.

Playing in the No. 2 spot, senior Connor Sass took the first set 6-3, but fell 2-6 in the second set to Jesse Brace of the Beavers. In the third set tiebreaker, Sass showed resilience to battle back and win 10-5.

Senior Aleksandar Vasic, freshman Tyler Haizel and sophomore Tyler Bussell all made easy work of their opponents, as they each picked up straight set victories, without dropping a single game. The No. 6 spot saw Buena Vista forfeit due to injury.

The only mishap of the day for North Central occurred in doubles action, when the team of Sass and Vasic fell 8-1 to Chris Haberman and Brace. Krueger and Haizel would however made amends, routing the team of Will Connelly and Chris Mumm 8-1. The third doubles match was a forfeit.

Also of note was that today's contest saw the duo of Sass and Vasic combine to win 100 matches between the two of them, a pleasing sight for head coach Nick DeFalco who has witnessed the hard work and dedication the pair have contributed throughout their years as Cardinals.

North Central will return to the Chaplin Park Tennis Center tomorrow morning, Mar. 20, to take on Virginia Wesleyan College. The match will commence at 8:00 a.m. (ET).
