Mar. 27, 2017 –
The North Central College men's tennis team saw its four-match win streak come to an end on Monday afternoon, dropping a 7-2 decision to a very tough NAIA foe Judson University in a match moved inside the Res/Rec Center due to inclement weather.

The Cardinals (5-3) faced a 3-0 deficit early after the Eagles (16-4) swept the three doubles positions.  Victor Krueger and Tyler Haizel fought Erik Jorsal and Joshua Gronowski in a back-and-forth match at the No. 2 position, but ultimately fell 9-7.

In singles play, Haizel downed Michael Bruen, 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 4 position, while Tyler Bussell rebounded from a 5-2 deficit in the opening set against Lou Ruggiero at No. 6 to complete the comeback and take a 7-5 first set win, before cruising to a 6-2 victory in the second set to earn the straight set win.

North Central is back in action on Thursday, Mar. 30, playing host to Olivet Nazarene University at 4 p.m. at the NCC Tennis Courts.
