WAUKESHA, Wis. (Apr. 22, 2017) – In their second match in as many days, the North Central College men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 decision at the hands of Carroll University on Saturday the Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Center.
The Pioneers (9-6, 2-2 CCIW) took an early 2-1 lead after doubles play, winning the top-two positions, before
Connor Sass and
Tyler Bussell cut the lead with a 8-3 win over Joshua Ramos and Mitchell Gjerseth at the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Carroll sealed the victory with wins at each of the first three positions, while
Tyler Haizel took down Ramos, 6-2, 6-0 at the No 4 spot. At No. 5,
Adam Winters cruised past Gjerseth, 6-2, 6-0, while Bussell defeated Adam Piontek, 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
North Central continues CCIW play on Monday, Apr. 24, playing host to Illinois Wesleyan University at 3:30 p.m. at the NCC Tennis Courts.
