Sept. 2, 2017 – The North Central College women's tennis team kicked off the 2017-18 season with a tough 8-1 loss at the hands of NCAA Division II opponent Purdue University Northwest on Saturday at the NCC Tennis Courts.

Starting the morning with doubles play, the Pride (1-0) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, as Diana Barcelata and Morgan House fought Brooke Foltz and Lena Van Bergen to a late decision, but ultimately came out on the wrong end of a 8-6 score.

In singles play, Barcelata earned the lone Cardinal victory, making quick work of Foltz at the No. 1 position, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.

North Central opens College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Wednesday, Sept. 6, playing host to Carroll University with matches ticketed for 3:30 p.m.
