Men's Tennis Suffers 6-3 Defeat in Non-Conference Dual

In their only dual match of the short fall season, the North Central College men's tennis team ran into a tough NAIA opponent in Saint Francis University on Wednesday, dropping a 6-3 decision at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
Starting the afternoon with doubles play, Saint Francis jumped out to the early 1-0 lead after taking the No. 1 position, but Adam Winters and Tyler Bussell knotted the score 1-1 with a 8-3 win over David Kohler and Thomas Schieffer at the No. 3 position.  Victor Krueger and Tyler Haizel had a chance to put North Central on top heading into singles play, but came up just short against Mike Hasler and Miguel Rayos del Sol, 9-7 at No. 2.
 
In singles play, the Fighting Saints (1-0) claimed the first three positions to seal the match victory, but the Cardinals were able to score wins at the No. 4 and No. 6 position.  Bussell took down Kohler in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4, while Lucas Pindak defeated Jordan Missig, 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot.
 
North Central (0-1) wraps up the fall season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Tournament hosted by Kalamazoo College (Michigan) from Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Stowe Stadium.
