Sept. 6, 2017 – Opening up College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play at the NCC Tennis Courts on Wednesday, the North Central College women's tennis team found itself on the wrong end of an 8-1 battle at the hands of Carroll University.

The Cardinal combinations of Diana Barcelata and Morgan House and Katie Legorreta and Rena Kawakami each battled their opponents tough at each of the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions, respectively, but ultimately each fell by identical 8-4 scores.

In singles play, the Pioneers (1-2, 1-0 CCIW) claimed five of the six positions, as Barcelata was the lone Cardinal to earn a victory, taking down Grace Krueger, 6-1, 7-6 at the No. 1 spot.

North Central (0-2, 0-1 CCIW) travels to Aurora University on Friday, Sept. 8 in a non-conference dual starting at 3 p.m. at the Washington Middle School Courts.
