Jan. 16, 2018- North Central College freshman Beth Ryan has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's swimmer of the week. The CCIW announced its selection on Tuesday, after earning two first-place individual finishes during the Cardinals' 77-37 victory over Lincoln College on Saturday.

Ryan, a human resource management major, earned first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.81, which was just 0.03 seconds off her season best.

She also placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.80, which was a career best and ranks as the fourth-fastest time in the CCIW this season.

Along with her individual first-place finishes, Ryan was also a part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:54.35) and 200-yard medley relay (1:54.08).

The Cardinals next meet will be at home in Merner Field House on Friday, meet time is set for 2 PM.
