2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Central Region Teams
Nov. 27, 2018 – North Central College women's soccer player
Lexi Dimovski has been named to the NCAA Division III All-Central Region Third Team, becoming the first player in program history to ever receive all-region honors. The United Soccer Coaches announced their all-region selections on Tuesday.
Dimovski, an actuarial science major from Woodridge, Illinois, was a force to be reckoned with on the offensive side of the field where she tallied 21 points on nine goals and three assists, leading the team in each category. The junior also recorded 52 shots during the season, 34 of which landed on goal. This latest recognition comes on the heels of her selection to the 2018 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Conference Women's Soccer First Team.
"Having Lexi represented on the third team all-region speaks volumes, demonstrating how far the program has come in a short amount of time. Lexi's selection is a representation of her dedication and hard work as well as her team's," said head coach
Andrew Gamarra.
A transfer from Maryville University, Dimovski has made a name for herself as the team's most formidable offensive threat. After two seasons with North Central, she ranks fifth in school history for career goals (18) and seventh for most points (41).
"Lexi brought a lot to the table this year. She created a lot of opportunities for herself and for the team and it was noticeable. As we continue to grow as a team and program, we will continue to build around her athleticism. Lexi is very team orientated and put her team before herself and I couldn't be prouder that she is the first ever woman's all-region selection at North Central. We look forward to her senior year!" added an ecstatic Gamarra.
After finishing their 2018 season with a record of 7-9-1 (3-4-1 CCIW), the team looks to take advantage of an older, more experienced group of players next year.
